OCPA Conferences

OCPA offers two highly engaging conferences each year with the goal of helping connect Higher Education professionals, graduate students and undergraduate students through the power of Professional Development. Below you will find some brief information about each conference as well as links to their individual pages.

The Professional Development Institutes

The Professional Development Institute is a series of one day drive-in professional development opportunities sponsored by OCPA. Each PDI is held at a sponsoring institution.

The OCPA Careers in Student Affairs Conference

The OCPA Careers in Student Affairs Conference takes place each fall and is geared towards providing undergraduate students an opportunity to explore a career in Student Affairs. OCPA invites students to participate in a one day drive-in conference at one of the premier institutions of higher education around the state to discover the possibilities of choosing a career in higher education.

The Graduate Student Affairs Conference (GSAC)

The Graduate Student Affairs Conference (GSAC) is a day-long conference put on by graduate students, for graduate students that strives to increase networking between rising student affairs professionals while encouraging the exploration of a variety of functional areas. The conference will also provide graduate students the opportunity to propose presentation topics and gain experience facilitating in a conference setting.

The OCPA Annual Conference

The OCPA Annual Conference is held every January in Columbus, OH and is designed to help connect and reconnect higher education professionals and graduate students from all across Ohio through professional development. With highly engaging program sessions, engaging speakers and nightly socials, the Annual Conference is a great opportunity for professionals across the state to build a network of colleagues and enhance their own campus experience through professional development.

Membership in OCPA is available at the following rates:

 2 Year Graduate Student Membership - $10.00 (Exclusive to current graduate students only)

1 Year Professional Membership - $25.00

5 Year Professional Membership - $100.00

Career Management Institute  Organizes the Career Management Track & Speaker.
Educational Sessions & Assessment Conducts Review and Selection of Conference Presentations & assessment of the annual conference.
Emerging Professionals Helps organize Resume Review & Mock Interview Processes.
 Equity & Inclusion Institute Organizes the Equity & Inclusion Track & Speaker. 
 Faculty Involvement Organizes the Faculty Track.
Logistics  Handles all logistical items related to the conference including technology, signage and troubleshooting.
 Mid-Level Managers Institute Organizes the Mid-Level Managers Track & Speaker. 
New Attendees & Volunteers Organizes events and involvement opportunities for New Attendees and Volunteers.
Publications & Marketing Handles all signage, communication and marketing materials for the Annual Conference.
Registration Handles registration & website updates for the Annual Conference.
Silent Auction Coodinates the silent auction process.
 Socials Organizes social gatherings for OCPA Members at the Annual Conference.
SSAO Involvement Organizes the SSAO Track.
Vendors & Partners Solicit outside sponsors and vendors to support the Annual Conference.


Applications will open on Friday, April 6th! Login to the OCPA Constituent Portal to apply! Applications are due by Friday, April 20th. All applications will be reviewed and applicants will be notified by April 30th if they have been selected for the 2019 Conference Committee.
